How to Clear Local App Data

If the Bluerithm desktop app starts behaving unexpectedly — stale content, a view that won’t load, or odd sign-in issues — clearing the local app data resets the app to a clean state. This guide walks you through doing that from the app’s Settings menu.

Sync your work first. Clearing app data wipes the local cache, including any offline changes that haven’t been synced to the server yet. Before you continue, make sure you’re online and that all pending changes have finished syncing — anything left unsynced will be permanently lost.

Before you start: Clearing local app data removes cached data and locally stored preferences and signs you out, so you’ll need to sign in again afterward. Once your work is synced, it lives on the server and is untouched by this action. This cannot be undone, so only proceed when you’re ready to reset the app.

Step 1. Open the app menu

In the Bluerithm desktop app, open the main menu.

Select Settings from the menu.

Tips for getting good results

  • Try a simple restart first. Many transient glitches clear on their own after fully closing and reopening the app. Clear the app data if a restart doesn’t resolve the issue.
  • Have your sign-in details ready. Because clearing app data signs you out, make sure you know your credentials (or have your SSO provider available) before you clear, so you can get back in without interruption.
  • Your project data is safe. This only clears the local cache on your machine. Nothing you’ve saved to a Bluerithm project is affected.
  • Use it when troubleshooting with support. Clearing local app data is a common first step our support team may ask you to try, since it rules out a corrupted local cache.
