How do I email project members about their open work and issues?

In the new Bluerithm (app.bluerithm.com), you can email project members about the work and issues assigned to them. Each person gets their own email that lists only their open items, with links back into the project.

Send the email

  1. Open the project's Work or Issues page and filter it to what you want people to hear about, for example one phase or one area.
  2. Tick the rows, or tick the checkbox in the header row to select everything that matches the filter.
  3. Click Send Email in the toolbar.

Work page with rows selected and Send Email in the toolbar

  1. Choose First notice or Reminder. A reminder is worded as a follow-up. Tick Skip anyone emailed about these in the last 24 hours to avoid emailing someone twice in a day.
  2. Check the Recipients. Bluerithm fills in everyone who has open items in your selection; add or remove project members as needed.
  3. Optionally change the Subject, add a Message that appears at the top of each email, and keep Send me a copy ticked to receive one summary copy yourself.
  4. Review the Preview. It shows each person's open items, when they were last emailed, and whether they will get an email. Click a row to see that person's email.
  5. Click Send. The button shows how many emails will go out, and they are sent in the background.

Each email lists the person's open items (a summary by category when there are more than 10), shows what is past due, and has a button that opens their open work or issues in Bluerithm.

Email everything assigned to someone

On the project's Members page, select one or more members and click Send Email. Each person hears about all of their open work and issues on the project.

Who can send, and who receives

  • Account admins and users from the company that owns the project can send project emails. Replies go straight to the sender.
  • Anyone who has turned off Email notifications is skipped, and the preview says so. Each person controls this under Settings in their profile menu.
  • Project emails need a connection: they are not available in a project made available offline, or in template projects.

To send a general update rather than a list of assigned items, use New > Project update email.
