How do I copy a dashboard to another project?

In the new Bluerithm (app.bluerithm.com), you can copy a dashboard you built on one project into another project of your account, or into a project template, in one step. The copy shows that project's own numbers, and the dashboard you copied from doesn't change.

Copy the dashboard

  1. Open the project's Dashboard page and pick the dashboard in the dashboard selector.
  2. Click Copy to Another Project in the dashboard toolbar: the icon right after Copy Dashboard. On a narrow screen it's in the More actions menu.

  1. Under Project, choose which project to copy it to. The list has two groups, Projects and Templates.
  2. Click Copy.

The dialog then says "Copied to" and the project's name, and lists anything it left out. Click Open and the project's name to go to that project's Dashboard page, or Close to stay where you are.

What the copy includes

  • The same name, layout and charts. Each chart shows the other project's own numbers, which fill in shortly after you copy.
  • Filters are kept, except folder filters: folders belong to one project, so they are left out, and the dialog lists each one it left out.
  • Rarely, a chart value tied to the original project's own records is left out too. The dialog lists it the same way.
  • The copy isn't the other project's default dashboard. That project's Dashboard page opens on its default dashboard, so pick the copy in the dashboard selector. To make it open first, click the star in the toolbar while it's on screen.

To duplicate a dashboard inside the same project, use Copy Dashboard instead.

Where you can copy to

  • Account Admins can copy into any active project of the account. Users can copy into the active projects their company owns.
  • A template can take the copy when you're one of its members. If you pick a template you aren't a member of, the dialog says "Only members of this template can add dashboards to it." and Copy stays off.
  • Closed projects aren't listed, and neither is the project you're copying from. Copies stay within your account.
  • If there's nowhere you can copy to, the dialog says "There is no other project you can add dashboards to."
  • Guests and Privileged Guests don't have the button, and it isn't offered on portfolio dashboards or shared links.
