How do I make an Equipment Matrix count only one company's work?
In the new Bluerithm (app.bluerithm.com), an Equipment Matrix can count only the work assigned to one company, so you can follow each contractor's progress equipment by equipment. Pick the company in the matrix's Filters pane and click Save. The matrix then lists only the equipment that has that company's work, and each cell counts only their work.
You need to be able to edit the dashboard: Account Admins, and Users whose company owns the project.
Set the company
- Open the project's Dashboard page and find the Equipment Matrix. To add one, click Add Chart and choose Equipment Matrix.
- Click Filters at the top of the matrix.
- Under Assignee, open All Companies and tick the company (the list then reads "1 selected"). To follow one person's work instead, use All Assigned To.
- The pane says "Work filters apply when you save." Click Save.

The matrix shows "Calculating metrics..." while it recalculates, then fills in by itself. This takes a few seconds on most projects and longer on very large ones.

What the matrix shows
- Only the equipment that has work assigned to that company. Equipment with none of their work isn't listed.
- Each cell counts only that company's work in that category on that piece of equipment. NA means the equipment has none of their work in that category.
- The line above the table says how many equipment are listed and when the matrix was calculated, for example "11 equipment with matching work · calculated 10:42 AM".
- Click any column header to sort: Folder, Associated With, Type, or a category's progress. The sort covers every page, not only the one on screen.

The other work filters behave the same way: All Statuses and All Labels under Work, and the date filters under Dates, count and list only the matching work, and apply when you save. The equipment filters and All Categories narrow the matrix as soon as you pick them. You can also set all of these from Edit on the chart. If nothing matches, the matrix says "No equipment has work matching this chart's filters."
What people who view the dashboard see
People who can view the dashboard but not edit it, such as Privileged Guests and anyone opening a shared link, can't change the work filters. The Filters pane tells them which work the matrix counts, in a line that starts "Work counted:" and names the company. They can still narrow the matrix with the equipment filters and categories.

When does the matrix update?
- Changes to work, such as a ticked checklist, usually show within minutes.
- New, renamed, moved and deleted equipment, and label or equipment type edits, show at the next recalculation. Click Re-calculate Metrics in the dashboard toolbar to refresh the matrix right away.
- If you remove the last work filter, the matrix recalculates again before it lists every equipment of the project.
Good to know
- The company comes from the person the work is assigned to, so work with no one assigned isn't counted for any company.
- To follow several contractors, add one Equipment Matrix per company, or give each contractor a dashboard of their own and share it with them. See Portfolio and Project Dashboards.
