Why won't Bluerithm accept my new password?
A new password for the new Bluerithm must be at least 8 characters long and hard to guess. The sign-in page only mentions the 8-character minimum. It also rejects passwords that are easy to guess, so a password can be long enough and still be refused for not meeting the strength requirements.
Passwords that are easy to guess include common words or names, keyboard patterns, dates, and simple variations on them. Capital letters, numbers and symbols are not required. What counts is length and unpredictability.
How to choose one that is accepted
- Use three or four unrelated words run together, 14 or more characters in total.
- Leave out your name, your company, "Bluerithm" and the word "password".
- Enter the new password, then sign in with it on the next page.
When you are asked to change your password
If you used the older web app before, you may see Password change required the first time you sign in to the new Bluerithm. This appears when your existing password no longer meets the requirements. Enter your current password, then a new one that follows the steps above, and choose Update password.
If you don't remember your current password, choose Forgot your password? on that screen instead. We'll email you a code, and you can then create a new password under the same rules.
This sets your password for the new Bluerithm only. The older web app has its own sign-in.
