Why does Bluerithm show Application Startup Failure?

If the new Bluerithm app at app.bluerithm.com (or the installed desktop/mobile app) stops on a screen that says Oops! Application Startup Failure! with a Refresh button, the app could not initialize its local database in the browser. A restart or Refresh is not enough, and signing in on the website usually fails the same way because the installed app and the website share that local data.

Your project data on our servers is not affected. This only resets the copy stored on your device.

What to do

Because the app never finishes starting, you cannot use Settings → Clear App Data. Clear Bluerithm site data from the browser (or the device) instead, then sign in again.

  1. Follow How to Clear Site Data on Desktop. The DevTools method (Application → Storage → Clear site data, with IndexedDB selected) is the most thorough if the Settings path does not help.
  2. On a phone or tablet, use How to Clear Site Data on iOS or How to Clear Site Data on Android.
  3. Return to app.bluerithm.com (or reopen the installed app) and sign in with the same login.

If the app does open later and the problem comes back, you can also use How to Clear Local App Data from Settings.

After you are back in

If you keep projects marked Available Offline when you are not on a jobsite, unload that offline copy when you are done. Stale local data is a common reason this screen appears after an app update. See Using the Bluerithm App Offline.
