Why isn't equipment imported when I process the configuration form?

When a configuration form finishes processing but no new equipment appears, the upload usually succeeded and the new rows were skipped.

Check these first:

  1. New equipment rows must have empty columns A and B. Column A is the item ID. It is filled in automatically for equipment that already exists during config form exports/downloads. Column B is the edit flag (an "x") used only when you want to update an existing row. If you paste new names onto a downloaded form and add your own IDs in column A, those rows are treated as existing items and nothing new is created.
  2. Add folders first. Work left to right. Create any new folder on the Folders worksheet before you put equipment in it on the Equipment worksheet.
  3. Names must be unique in the same folder. A new row with a name that already exists in that folder is skipped.
  4. Wait for the background job to finish before you change anything else on the project. In the new Bluerithm you can open the job and read the log to see which rows were created or skipped.

Download a fresh configuration form from the project each time, make the changes, then upload it. See Configuration Forms for the full walkthrough, and Add New Equipment for the other ways to add equipment.
