How do I set the order work is done in?
Every project and project template has a work order: its work categories in the order the work is done, for example FAT, then SAT, then pre-functional checklists. You set it in the new Bluerithm (app.bluerithm.com) on the Workflow tab of the project's Settings page.
Change the order
- Open the project (or project template), click Settings in the left menu, then the Workflow tab (1).
- Under Work order, drag a category's row up or down (2). The new order is saved as soon as you drop the row.

Every category your project's work uses is listed, with how much work is in it in the Work column. When new work brings in a new category, it joins the work order: drag it to where it belongs.
Reports and dashboards use this order when they list work categories. The Work page itself still groups categories alphabetically.
Add, rename or remove a category
- Add: type a name in New work category and click ADD (3). It goes to the end of the list. This is handy on a template, before any work uses the category.
- Rename: click the category's name, type the new name and confirm. All work in that category gets the new name and the category keeps its place. Report filters, saved grid filters and dashboard charts that use the old name keep it, so update them afterwards. The rename finishes in the background: follow it in your jobs list, then refresh to see the new name on the work.
- Remove: tick categories that no work uses (their Work count is 0) and click Remove. A category that still has work stays in the work order.
Copy a template's work order
Click Copy From Template (4), choose the template and click Copy. Categories the project already has keep their place and settings; the template's other categories are added at the end, in the template's order. Good to know
- Account Admins and users of the project's owning company can change the work order. On a project template, they must also be a member of the template.
- On a screen 1024 pixels wide or less (phones and most tablets) each category shows as a card and rows can't be dragged. Change the order on a wider screen.
- The legacy web app's Work Category Order page has been removed. Set the order here; the legacy web app follows it.
- The same tab sets which categories have to wait for others: How do I make work wait for other work to finish?
